Revised - EMS Weekly Update

I want to make a revision to my previous email. I apologize for giving the wrong information on my last email update. Next week’s game is not vs. Lingle it is vs. (Hylton Lakeside) In Springdale.  It will start at 5:30 at Southwest Junior High School in Springdale. We will not have a 2nd game for this, but the good news is that we still have our Jamboree scheduled for Saturday September 21st, vs. (OMS, KMS, and LMS) at Rogers Heritage High School Stadium from 8:30 – 10:00 am. For our Jamborees we will not have a bus, we simply ask the parents to provide our players a ride to and from the Jamboree.  As I mentioned before these are a lot of fun and offer quality play time for our kids. Our game vs. Lingle is going to be on September 26th and there will be a 2nd game for that.
Sorry again for my miscommunication. Thank you for your time and support!

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, here are our announcements for this week.

1.      We will have practice this Monday from 3:30 – 5:30. Being that our first game is this Thursday we feel that it is important to use this time to our advantage.
2.      We are asking that our $5 game meal money be turned in as soon as possible as we approach our first game.
3.      Our game day attire will be dress pants, dress shoes, a belt, and their game jersies which will be given to them the day before our game.
4.      For our games we are asking that our players wear white socks that are between the ankle and the knee. We are asking that our players wear black cleats as well. Nothing special as far as shoe brand is needed.
5.       Just a reminder that we will have two Jamborees where we will play against (Kerksey, Lingle, and Oakdale). These are a lot of fun where our players can gain valuable play time and compete against other schools. On these dates we will not have a bus for our players, so we simply ask that they are provided with transportation to and from the Jamborees.
 -Saturday September 21st at RHHS Stadium - 8:30a.m. 10:00a.m.
-Saturday October 5th at RHS Stadium - 8:30a.m. - 10:00a.m.

**I am very proud of our players for their hard work!! We are improving with each practice!
As always please feel free to follow everything regarding EMS Football and RHS Football at www.mountiesfootball.com. On a side note RHS will be playing Mountain Home at home this Friday. We definitely encourage the EMS Raider Football Family to join us to cheer on our Mounties!!

EMS FOOTBALL - Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had a great first week of practice. We are coming together as a team, and our players are working very hard to become their best!!! I am very proud of our players for their discipline and being coachable. We will change our practice time slightly for next week being that the week before school is a busy week. Our practice time for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday will be from 6;00 - 8:00. We will not have practice on Thursday as we will have EMS Open House. This is a very important event and we encourage all of our players to be there to meet their teachers. Monday is our first day of full pads, and we are asking that our players arrive on Monday at 5:30 in order to set up their pant pads.

Here are some other points of interest.
EMS Football- Important Upcoming Events!!!!!!!!!

1. We will take our team pictures on August 22nd. Please turn those forms and money in before August 22nd.

2. Our fan apparel forms are due by August by August 16th.

3. Monday, August 19th (1st Day of School) When school begins practice will be from 3:00 - 5:30.

4. Most all of our players have already turned in their required paperwork and I thank you for doing so as this is a big help. If your player has not turned in all of the required paperwork this is simply a reminder to,do so.
This includes --
-A current Physical.
-Medical History Form.
-2013-2014 District Acknowledgement Form.
-Concussion Form.

5. I do want to stress proper nutrition for our players. Our players are burning a lot of calories and good food choices throughout the day is always advised. Drinking water throughout the day is also very important. Staying away from sodas as much as possible is also helpful.

6. Last but not least we always stress that school comes first, and we expect our players to excel on the field and in the classroom as well. We will have Academic Success Sheets that our players will be responsible for twice a month in order to monitor their progress in the classroom. These will be checked by their Coaches, signed by their teachers, and then signed by their parents. This is a highly effective tool to help our student athletes manage their time wisely.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!! I am proud of our Elmwood Raiders, and I am excited about the season!!!
Go Raiders!!!

EMS Weekly Football Update

Hello to all. As we enter the upcoming week of our Mad Days Summer Workouts here are some important highlights to keep in mind.

1. This week our Mad Days Summer Workouts will be during the same time frame of 8:45-10:15 am, Monday - Thursday, and at the same location the RHS Football Facility. We are having a great time!! I am continually impressed by the consistency and work ethic that our players have displayed throughout our summer workouts.! For all of our players who have not attended on a regular basis I want to strongly encourage you to attend  the last three weeks of our summer workouts as it is very important to prepare ourselves for the upcoming season.

2. We are having a very productive time with our Flex Days led by Coach Schoonover, our Offensive Coordinator which takes place before our Mad Day Workouts every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 - 8:45 for all Quarterbacks, Fullbacks, and Slots. This is simply time that we set aside in order to work with those positions on the various fine points of our offense. We strongly encourage all of our Quarterbacks, Fullbacks, and Slots to attend these important sessions.

3. I do want to stress the importance of turning in all required Rogers Public Schools Athletics Paperwork to Coach Hattier as soon as you complete it. Your current physical is good for one full year, and if that year is about to be up then it is a good time to renew your physical. I have attached all required paperwork to this email. We must have this paperwork turned in and on file in order for your athlete to participate in Football this season. The good news is that we have a little time to get these things turned in before our first official practice on August 5th. As soon as this paperwork is completed please turn it in to Coach Hattier. Thank you for your valuable help and cooperation with this!

4. As soon as possible please begin to turn in the order form for our EMS Football fan apparel from Team Graphics. I previously sent this form out as an attachment in my  weekly update emails. We have a great looking design this year with a variety of clothing options from a t shirt to a long sleeve shirt and a hooded sweat shirt. We also have personalized EMS Football car decals. The deadline for turning in the order forms to Coach Hattier is August 15th.

5. In the future I will be sending out invites to join our free Flickr photo website. This is free to join, and it offers a wide variety of options for our parents. There are quite a few options available on Flickr such as making a college to making a personalized calendar. We will upload our team photos to this Flickr site which can be found at www.mountiesfootball.com. Once I send out our invitation to join our Team Flickr page you will simply accept the invitation.

6. We will have a very important pre season parent and players meeting on Wednesday July 31st, from 6:30 - 7:15 pm at EMS. This will be a very important meeting and I definitely encourage all of our parents and players to attend! We will discuss exciting information regarding our upcoming football season!!

7. I have made a slight change to our August practice schedule. Our practice time for the first 2 weeks of football practice beginning on August 5th - August 16th, will be from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. When school begins on August 19th our practice time will change to 3:00 - 5:30.
