Hello to all, has been a very hot week, but we have persevered and have gotten a lot of work accomplished in order to prepare for our first game. I am proud of our players for their positive attitudes and hard work!! Here are our announcements for this week.  -----------
- Our practice schedule this week will be slightly different in order to prepare for our first game and to make up practice time lost on Tuesday. This week we will practice until 6:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will allow us to have extra time to focus on all of the details that go along with good preparation. We will not have practice on this Friday or next Friday as myself and Coach Garner will be assisting with out of state games for the RHS Football Team on those dates. As mentioned in our parent and player meeting at the beginning of August, our game day procedure is that our players will remain at school with our team at the end of the school day as we will be on a tight schedule for our team meal, and pre game preparation. Our game day attire will consist of dress pants, a belt, dress shoes, and we will wear our game jersey tucked in. This helps to set a positive and focused tone throughout the day leading up to our game. We will take the team bus to and from the game.
- Our Fan Apparel should be arriving shortly, and I am going to try and get it in before Thursday. Our team pictures should also be arriving in a timely fashion as well.
- We have had a change to Thursday’s game. It will still start at 5:30 at RHS, the only change is that we will not have a second game that usually follows our first game when we play Kirksey, Oakdale, and Lingle. This is due to a scheduling conflict with other games that are being played at RHS on that night. All of our other games against those opponents will include a second game. I do apologize for this, and we will try to make up for that second game at a later time.
- We are still taking meal money for our pre game meal from Chick Fil A. It will include a chicken sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a bottled water. The cost is simply $5, and your child can turn their money in to Coach Hattier, or Coach Garner.
- We still have 2 volunteer positions open for this week’s game. We need 2 people in the press box – 1 person to be the score keeper, and 1 person to help spot the ball and down and distance. These are fairly simple jobs, and any help to fill these positions would be much appreciated. One more easy position to fill is someone to pass out our game day roster / program. These are free of charge and we will simply pass them out to our parents as they arrive to the game. For all of our volunteers if it is at all possible I will meet you at the home sidelines at about 5:00 in order to brief you on the position that you will be working for that night. Thank you again to all of our volunteers! We are very grateful for all of your time and help!!

EMS FOOTBALL -WEEKLY UPDATE

Hello to all, here are just a couple of announcements for the upcoming week.

-We had another good week of practice as we continued to work hard and get better with each practice. We took our pictures on Thursday and they should be in shortly. Our EMS fan apparel should also be in shortly.

-Next week we will be on a normal practice schedule (3:00-5:30) Mon- Fri.

-As always we will take our girdle, practice jersey, and practice pants home on Friday in order to wash them, and we will bring them back on Monday morning before school. We will make sure to put the pads back in our pants and girdle over the weekend so that we are ready to go on Monday afternoon.

-Next week I will begin to collect team meal money for our first game on September 4th, vs. Kirksey. The cost is $5, and cash is preferred as it is easier to make our Chick Fil A payment that way.

-Our game on Sep. 4th will be a home game so we will need volunteers for a couple of positions. Here are those positions. If you are able to volunteer for one of these positions simply place your name by the open position and send this email back to me. I will then send the email back out to all in order to show everyone what positions we still need help with.
We will also need help with the Concession Stand on that night.
Mrs. Bush is coordinating the concession stand volunteers.
Thank you very much for all of your valuable time and help! It is much appreciated!

EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had a good second week of practice as we continued to improve with each workout. Our players are dedicated to being their best, and that is exciting to see! Our schedule beginning next week will change to 3:00 - 5:30. We are going to have a great time as we continue to work hard and prepare ourselves. Just a quick note that we will not have practice on 2 dates. They are both Fridays during our season. These dates are Friday September 12th, and Friday September 19th. On those dates Myself and Coach Garner will be traveling out of state to assist with the RHS Football Team, and we will have to leave early. On all other Fridays when our games begin will have stretching, weightlifting, and film study as our routine. On Fridays after our games we will typically be done with practice by 4:30. Next week I will send out a volunteer list for parents to sign up for our first game vs. Kirksey on September 4th. It will be a home game so we will need volunteers for that game. As we fill the volunteer positions I will update everybody as to what positions still need to be filled. We are very grateful for any and all help! One position that I would like to fill right now for the duration of the season is a game filmer. We already have the video camera and discs we simply need 2 people to rotate if needed that would be willing to film our games. It an easy process, and extremely important as we will trade film with other teams in order to scout our opponent, as well as view our own games in order to improve as a team.
If you would like to fill that position please let me know. Thank you again for your valuable time and support!!
We are excited about the upcoming season!!!

EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had an outstanding first week of practice as our players worked very hard and improved with each workout! We have tremendous young men that are going to represent our school with pride this season, and I am excited to have the opportunity to coach them! A big thanks goes out to the RHS Coaching Staff as they helped in coaching our players throughout the week! Our players were able to receive extremely valuable instruction in order to get prepared for the upcoming season!

A couple of notes for the week ahead. We have 2 days of Open House at EMS. We have a 6th Grade Open House that I will be attending on Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30, and a 7th and 8th Grade Open House that Coach Garner will be attending on Thursday from 6:00-7:30. We definitely encourage all of our players to attend their Open House Night as it is very important. For Tuesday and Thursday we will have a conditioning and weightlifting workout from 7:30 - 8:30. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we will have our normal practice time of 6:00-8:30. We are looking forward to another productive week of practice!

We have some great RHS Football fan apparel, and EMS Football fan apparel that is available. The EMS fan apparel forms are due by August 15th, and if paying by check should be made payable to EMS Football. Your child can simply turn it in to me throughout the week.

Thank you for your valuable support!! We are looking forward to an exciting season!!
