EMS FOOTBALL WEEKLY UPDATE

Hello to all, Here is our schedule for next week.
We will have a normal schedule Mon. - Fri., with a short practice on  Friday. We will also have a second game vs. Lingle next week at Rogers Heritage Stadium with our first game starting at 5:30. This will be another great opportunity for all of our players to obtain quality play time and to gain game experience. We are continuing in our pursuit of excellence, and we are expanding upon the positive things that we are accomplishing as a team. I am proud of our players for their continued work ethic and never give up attitude. We have a lot of character and integrity on our team! As we move forward we will continue to work hard strive to reach our full potential as a team.

Being that it is an away game we will not need any volunteers for next week's game. Thank you again to all of our volunteers for their hard work and valuable time over the past three games!

Once again we will not have practice this Friday 9-19 due to myself and Coach Garner assisting RHS Football with an out of state game. This will be a good opportunity for our players to rest up for next week. Our players should wash all of their cloth over the weekend and have it ready to go for Monday with their pads placed back in their girdle and practice pants. They can drop these items off in their football locker before school starts on Monday.

Have a great weekend, and we are looking forward to a great week of preparation in order to be very successful vs. Lingle.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!

EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, just a few things for next week. We plan on working very hard to continue to improve and to our very best. Our practice schedule is (Mon.- Wed. 3:00 - 5:30, Thursday/ Game day with 2 games being played, and Friday we will not have practice. I do apologize for not having 2 games this week as we originally planned. The scheduling of the games at RHS for last Thursday did not give us enough time to do so. We will have a second game this week, and it will start shortly after our first game. We are looking forward to seeing all of our players in action on Thursday night! I believe in our team, and I know that as we stick together and remain unified that great things will come our way! We will continue to coach our players with great attention to detail, and also to encourage them to believe in their abilities to excel. I am excited to see our team perform on Thursday!!

Our players had a great time this evening as they were able to attend the RHS home football game vs. Siloam Springs and see our Mounties win 35-21! This will be a normal routine as we will let our players attend our home games at no charge. They really enjoy this experience as they are able to cheer on their Mountie Football Family to victory!!

On a side note, our fan apparel that we ordered from Team Graphics got mixed up. I made some corrections for shirts today and I passed those out to our players so we should have those squared away. The major item that Team Graphics did not include when they dropped off our order is our car decals. I greatly apologize for this. I contacted Team Graphics this evening about this issue, and we should have this resolved very shortly. Thank you for your patience with that. As soon as I receive the car decals I will distribute those to our players. I am hopeful that it will be resolved this week before our game on Thursday.

Here is our volunteer list for Thursday as it is a home game. Thank you to all who helped us last Thursday as it is not possible without your valuable time and help!! We are very grateful!! As always feel free to simply email me the position that you would like to fill.
Thank you for your valuable time and support!!!
Go Raiders!!!

Corrected EMS Weekly Update

Hello, I just need to make a correction to my previous weekly update. I mentioned that we would not have practice on this Friday or the next. We will actually have practice this Friday until 4:30. As I mentioned before our Friday practices will typically be shorter in order to allow our players to rest a little after our games. We will use our Friday practices for stretching, spending some time in the weight room, and watching game film in order to critique our game performance and to prepare for the next week’s opponent. So we will have practice this Friday, but we will not have practice on Friday September 12th, or Friday September 19th. Sorry for this error in my previous email. Thank you for your valuable time and support!! We are looking forward to a productive week of practice, and an exciting first game!!
Here is our current Volunteer List. We only have 2 positions left (score keeper)-, and (someone to help spot where the ball is and down and distance)- Any help is much appreciated!! Thank you again! Have a great week!

Friday, August 29, 2014

Hello to all, has been a very hot week, but we have persevered and have gotten a lot of work accomplished in order to prepare for our first game. I am proud of our players for their positive attitudes and hard work!! Here are our announcements for this week.  -----------
- Our practice schedule this week will be slightly different in order to prepare for our first game and to make up practice time lost on Tuesday. This week we will practice until 6:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will allow us to have extra time to focus on all of the details that go along with good preparation. We will not have practice on this Friday or next Friday as myself and Coach Garner will be assisting with out of state games for the RHS Football Team on those dates. As mentioned in our parent and player meeting at the beginning of August, our game day procedure is that our players will remain at school with our team at the end of the school day as we will be on a tight schedule for our team meal, and pre game preparation. Our game day attire will consist of dress pants, a belt, dress shoes, and we will wear our game jersey tucked in. This helps to set a positive and focused tone throughout the day leading up to our game. We will take the team bus to and from the game.
- Our Fan Apparel should be arriving shortly, and I am going to try and get it in before Thursday. Our team pictures should also be arriving in a timely fashion as well.
- We have had a change to Thursday’s game. It will still start at 5:30 at RHS, the only change is that we will not have a second game that usually follows our first game when we play Kirksey, Oakdale, and Lingle. This is due to a scheduling conflict with other games that are being played at RHS on that night. All of our other games against those opponents will include a second game. I do apologize for this, and we will try to make up for that second game at a later time.
- We are still taking meal money for our pre game meal from Chick Fil A. It will include a chicken sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a bottled water. The cost is simply $5, and your child can turn their money in to Coach Hattier, or Coach Garner.
- We still have 2 volunteer positions open for this week’s game. We need 2 people in the press box – 1 person to be the score keeper, and 1 person to help spot the ball and down and distance. These are fairly simple jobs, and any help to fill these positions would be much appreciated. One more easy position to fill is someone to pass out our game day roster / program. These are free of charge and we will simply pass them out to our parents as they arrive to the game. For all of our volunteers if it is at all possible I will meet you at the home sidelines at about 5:00 in order to brief you on the position that you will be working for that night. Thank you again to all of our volunteers! We are very grateful for all of your time and help!!

EMS FOOTBALL -WEEKLY UPDATE

Hello to all, here are just a couple of announcements for the upcoming week.

-We had another good week of practice as we continued to work hard and get better with each practice. We took our pictures on Thursday and they should be in shortly. Our EMS fan apparel should also be in shortly.

-Next week we will be on a normal practice schedule (3:00-5:30) Mon- Fri.

-As always we will take our girdle, practice jersey, and practice pants home on Friday in order to wash them, and we will bring them back on Monday morning before school. We will make sure to put the pads back in our pants and girdle over the weekend so that we are ready to go on Monday afternoon.

-Next week I will begin to collect team meal money for our first game on September 4th, vs. Kirksey. The cost is $5, and cash is preferred as it is easier to make our Chick Fil A payment that way.

-Our game on Sep. 4th will be a home game so we will need volunteers for a couple of positions. Here are those positions. If you are able to volunteer for one of these positions simply place your name by the open position and send this email back to me. I will then send the email back out to all in order to show everyone what positions we still need help with.
We will also need help with the Concession Stand on that night.
Mrs. Bush is coordinating the concession stand volunteers.
Thank you very much for all of your valuable time and help! It is much appreciated!

EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had a good second week of practice as we continued to improve with each workout. Our players are dedicated to being their best, and that is exciting to see! Our schedule beginning next week will change to 3:00 - 5:30. We are going to have a great time as we continue to work hard and prepare ourselves. Just a quick note that we will not have practice on 2 dates. They are both Fridays during our season. These dates are Friday September 12th, and Friday September 19th. On those dates Myself and Coach Garner will be traveling out of state to assist with the RHS Football Team, and we will have to leave early. On all other Fridays when our games begin will have stretching, weightlifting, and film study as our routine. On Fridays after our games we will typically be done with practice by 4:30. Next week I will send out a volunteer list for parents to sign up for our first game vs. Kirksey on September 4th. It will be a home game so we will need volunteers for that game. As we fill the volunteer positions I will update everybody as to what positions still need to be filled. We are very grateful for any and all help! One position that I would like to fill right now for the duration of the season is a game filmer. We already have the video camera and discs we simply need 2 people to rotate if needed that would be willing to film our games. It an easy process, and extremely important as we will trade film with other teams in order to scout our opponent, as well as view our own games in order to improve as a team.
If you would like to fill that position please let me know. Thank you again for your valuable time and support!!
We are excited about the upcoming season!!!

EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had an outstanding first week of practice as our players worked very hard and improved with each workout! We have tremendous young men that are going to represent our school with pride this season, and I am excited to have the opportunity to coach them! A big thanks goes out to the RHS Coaching Staff as they helped in coaching our players throughout the week! Our players were able to receive extremely valuable instruction in order to get prepared for the upcoming season!

A couple of notes for the week ahead. We have 2 days of Open House at EMS. We have a 6th Grade Open House that I will be attending on Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30, and a 7th and 8th Grade Open House that Coach Garner will be attending on Thursday from 6:00-7:30. We definitely encourage all of our players to attend their Open House Night as it is very important. For Tuesday and Thursday we will have a conditioning and weightlifting workout from 7:30 - 8:30. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we will have our normal practice time of 6:00-8:30. We are looking forward to another productive week of practice!

We have some great RHS Football fan apparel, and EMS Football fan apparel that is available. The EMS fan apparel forms are due by August 15th, and if paying by check should be made payable to EMS Football. Your child can simply turn it in to me throughout the week.

Thank you for your valuable support!! We are looking forward to an exciting season!!

EMS Football

Hello to all, this is just a quick announcement for a minor change to our schedule in July. On our EMS Football Calendar we originally had our Parent and Player meeting on Thursday July 31st from 6-7 pm, and our Football Equipment Checkout on Friday August 1st from 6-7 pm.
We are simply moving those dates back to having our Parent and Player meeting on Tuesday July 29th from 6-7 pm at EMS, and our Football Equipment Checkout on Wednesday July 30th from 6-7 pm at EMS. We are having our Equipment Checkout on Wednesday July 30th, but we will also give our players an opportunity to checkout their football equipment early on Tuesday July 29th, after our Parent and Player meeting. For our players who still need to check out their football equipment they will do so on Wednesday July 30th.

I do apologize for any inconvenience with these changes. I do hope that the early notice helps out.
As stated on our calendar on Monday August 4th we will begin our season with our first practice at EMS from 6 - 8:30 pm, and we will have our first day of tryouts for our 6th graders going into the 7th grade from 5 - 6 pm at EMS.
***Here are some other exciting events on the horizon!!!

1. ---2014 MAD Days Summer Workouts  --- FOR Incoming EMS 7th   Graders  and Incoming  8th Graders**** Beginning on July 7th at RHS Football Facility from 8:45 - 10:15 am.
This will be at the RHS Football Facility from 8:45 - 10:30 am throughout the week – The list of workout dates are on the following summer calendar that is attached to this email. This is for 6th graders going into the 7th grade and for our 7th graders going into the 8th grade. The Cost is $20.00, and includes a MAD Day t shirt. You can sign up by visiting this link and printing off and filling out the sign up form- http://www.mountiesfootball.com/camps.html. If you are unable to print this out I will have extra copies of the MAD Days sign up form at the RHS Football Field House on Monday.
Please feel free to bring the sign up form and money to our first MAD Day workout on July 7th or during that week. The price is minimal as the $20 fee covers the whole summer for MAD Day workouts. If money is ever an issue or hardships exist please let me know as I want all of our players to have the opportunity to participate in all that we do.
We strongly encourage all of our players to attend our MAD Day Workouts as they are crucial to our individual and Team development. You will sign up for the 3rd session, which is form 8:45 - 10:15 am.
***MAD Days Workouts begin on July 7th. These are a lot of fun and this will be a great time to continue to improve our strength and conditioning over the summer break.  ***M.A.D. Day workouts are 8:45 - 10:15 am. at RHS Football Facility. (Apparel Needed – tennis shoes, cleats, and our EMS workout apparel / black shorts and green shirt.)
2. ---We will compete in three tournaments in the Springdale 7 on 7 League. --- FOR Incoming EMS 7th   Graders  and Incoming  8th Graders****
This is going to be a lot of fun as we compete against schools in our area. I will have a schedule of games that I will send out before the tournaments.
Here are the dates and times – Each of these dates are on a Monday - (July 14th, 21st, 28th). All of these tournaments will be from 8 – 12 at Southwest Junior High School or at Har-Ber HS. We will leave by bus from Elmwood at 7:00 and arrive back by about 1:15 – 1:30 as we will stop at Mad Pizza on the way back for lunch. In order to pick up their helmets we ask that our players arrive at Elmwood between 6:45-7:00 and pick up their helmet in our Football Locker Room. The cost for lunch will be $6 total for the buffet and a drink. In the past we were able to get the buffet and a drink for $5, but the price has changed slightly since then.  (Apparel Needed – helmet, cleats, and our EMS workout apparel / black shorts and green shirt.)
****I have attached a list of files that are essential as we move forward this summer and for the upcoming season. I have attached 3 forms that need to be turned in asap if you have not already done so. (our updated medical history form, our Rogers Public Schools Code of Conduct Acknowledgement Form, and an updated physical if needed. The physicals are good for one whole year. So if you know that it is getting close to the time when you need to get a new physical please do so. I have attached a list of easy to find clinics that provide physicals for a low price of $25. They are easy to schedule. You can give all of these forms to Coach Hattier.

This week----

-This is just a quick note regarding this week's schedule. On our schedule it lists that on Mon. / Wed. / Fri.  we will have 7 on 7 practice from 10:15-11:00. This is for our QB's, Slots, Fullbacks, Wide Recievers, and Centers on the offensive side of the ball, and for our Corners, Safeties, Inside Linebackers, and Outside Linebackers on the defensive side of the ball.

-On our schedule it also lists that we will have QB / FB/ Slot Skill Work from 8:15-8:45. This is for our QB's, Fullbacks, Slots, and Centers.

-Our 7 on 7 competition is primarily for our QB's, Slots, Fullbacks, Wide Recievers, and Centers on the offensive side of the ball, and for our Corners, Safeties, Inside Linebackers, and Outside Linebackers on the defensive side of the ball. This is simply because their positions are the only positions that are used in the 7 on 7 games. This comprises of most of our team, but we do have linemen that do not receive reps in this competition. We do encourage all of our team to attend our 7 on 7 competitions as this promotes team spirit and it allows all of our team to have a good time. I will also rotate our linemen into the 7 on 7 games as centers to keep them active.
It is going to be a good time for all.

-One last note that on Tuesday, July 15th, the RHS Football Facilitiy will be closed and we will not have our MAD Day workout or QB / FB/ Slot Skill Work on that day. We will simply have an off day on the 15th.

Thank you for your valuable time and we are excited and looking forward to this week as we prepare to be our best for the upcoming season!!!!

Go Raiders!!!

The physicals are good for one whole year. So if you know that it is getting close to the time when you need to get a new physical please do so. I have attached a list of easy to find clinics that provide physicals for a low price of $25. They are easy to schedule. You can give all of these forms to Coach Hattier.

Thank you for your valuable time and support! Have a great summer, and I look forward to seeing our players at our Rogers Activity Center EMS / KMS Football Camp on June 17-19, and of course at our MAD Day Workouts at RHS beginning on July 7th.

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had a great meeting yesterday evening as we discussed our exciting summer events as well as our upcoming football season. I definitely understand if you were unable to make it to the meeting. I have included all of the information that we covered in our weekly email. I have attached those files to our weekly update email. They include  (Player / Parent Meeting Notes, MAD Days Sign Up Form, EMS Football Calendar, 2014-2015 RPS Code of Conduct Packet, Physical and Medical History Form, and our 2014 Mercy Sports Flyer for locations to acquire a physical if your child needs one.)

If your child needs a physical packet of all of these forms I have those available as well. They can simply see me throughout the week and I will provide them with it.

Here are a couple of key points.--------------

--We definitely encourage our players to turn in the 2014-2015 RPS Code of Conduct Acknowldgement Form, Medical History form, and MAD Day Form before they leave for summer. These forms are easy to fill out and our players can give them to me in classroom 214 throughout next week.

--Our offseason for this school year is completed, but we will meet on Tuesday from 3 - 4:15 in order to pass out equipment to our players. We will provide them with a helmet, shoulder pads, and a practice jersey. Our players will store this equipment in their football locker so that we will have it available for our summer events. The only thing that we are asking that our players provide before we gather back together on July 7th for our 1st MAD Day Workout is a mouthpiece.  They are very cheap, around $1.50-3.00, and you can easily find them at Wal Mart or Academy Sports. If your child has braces there are specialty mouthpieces available at Academy Sports. I usually have enough mouthpieces for all, but this year I am running a bit low on that item.

--As the season approaches and our players feet get bigger game cleats will be a necessity. We are simply asking that their cleats be black. You can find some really good cleats that are very reasonably priced at Academy Sports. You don't need the priciest or most fancy cleats as there are several quality cleats to choose from that will be just fine.

I am very excited about this group of young men, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to coach them!!

I am also excited about the great events that await us during the summer, and our 2014 Football Season!!

It is awesome to be an Elmwood Raider and a Future Mountie!!!!

Have a wonderful summer and we will see your child again on July 7th. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time.

Go Raiders!!!!!

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Here are our announcements for this coming week. We will have our regular football offseason at EMS during our normal timeframe of 3:00 4:30. Our days will be different next week. We will only have it on Tuesday and Wednesday.
RHS is having their spring football practices next week on Tue. -  Thur., and we definitely encourage all of our players to attend and watch the spring practices if they are able to do so. The RHS spring football practices will generally last until 6. This is a great opportunity for our players to watch and learn from the high school Coaches and the players.

We are heading into the final stretch of the school year and it is exciting to see how far our players have progressed in their development as football players. We still have many exciting things on the horizon as we enter the summer months!

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, this is just a quick announcement that we will extend the order opportunity for our EMS Under Armor apparel until May 11th.
This is mainly for our 7th grade players who are going into the 8th grade. Attached is a flyer along with directions for ordering EMS Football Items. These are great quality Under Armor items that have our EMS Football logos on them. There are a wide variety of items to choose from. If you would like to make an order the directions are very easy to follow. I think that you will be impressed with what is being offered.  The main items to look at to purchase are black cleats and white and green mid high socks. These items are on the website contained in the attached flyer. I know that there are a lot of options to choose from on the website so I just wanted to simplify it for everyone as far as the essential items are concerned. Of course your child’s feet will probably grow throughout the course of the summer so you might want to look at purchasing cleats that are a little bit larger than presently needed. Please feel free to shop around the website for a variety of items. There are several nice, high quality items to choose from at a reasonable price.

We are looking forward to our Future Mountie Camp next week on May 7-9 at RHS from 4-6 pm. Going to be a lot of fun!
---We will have our Future Mounties Football Camp free of charge at the RHS Football Facility on May 7th – May 9th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. We will provide transportation to RHS by bus after school on those dates. We simply ask that the parents pick up their child at RHS at 6:00. This is going to be an outstanding time as our players will receive valuable instruction from our RHS Football Coaching Staff.

On a side note we are going to have our parent and player meeting for our current 6th and 7th grade players on Friday, May 30th from 6-7 pm at EMS instead of May 23rd, due to it being Memorial Day Weekend. I did not want our meeting to conflict with any travel plans that our players and their family's may have already set.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!

---The next event that I would like to mention is our player and parent meeting at EMS on Monday, May 23rd, from 6-7 pm. This will be a great time as we outline the wonderful summer events and our upcoming season.
---The last event that I would like to mention is our EMS /KMS Football Camp that will be held at Kirksey from 6:00-8:30 pm on June 17-19 for EMS and KMS Football Players. It will be facilitated by Me, as well as Brian Anderson the Head Coach at Kirksey. This will be a great opportunity to sharpen our football skills as we head into the upcoming season.
