EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had a great first week of our MAD Day workouts!! Our players are working hard, improving, and having fun!! I do want to encourage all of our players to make every MAD Day workout if possible. These are very important and fun! They are designed to help us to be the best team that we can be for the upcoming season, so come on out and join us if you have not done so yet! It is not too late to sign up, and please do not let any financial situation be an issue. If funding is an issue please let us know as we will do all that we can to make it possible for your child to participate in MAD Days.

***Here are just a few highlights for next week.

1. You can turn in all required Physical Paperwork as soon as you complete it to Coach Hattier. Your current physical is good for one full year, and if that year is about to be up then it is probably a good time to renew your physical.

2. Here is our schedule for next week:

Monday - Football Penny Camp at RHS Football Facility from 10:00 - 11:00. We want all of our players to be there. I would suggest getting there at 9:30 so that our players can get ready by putting on their helmets, shoulder pads, and practice jersey. I will have all of the shoulder pads, football helmets, and practice jerseys at the RHS Football facility ready for our players.  The cost is simply one penny. We are going to have a great time as we continue to learn the fundamentals of our football system. All that they need to do is simply meet me at the RHS Football facility and I will give them their equipment before we begin at 10:00. Other than that we will not wear our practice football pants, so our players simply need to have shorts, and also a pair of cleats as we will be on a grass surface.
***This camp is only for our 8th graders to participate in, but we definitely encourage all of our 7th graders and 6th graders to attend in order to watch and learn the fundamentals that we will be working on. This will be a great learning experience as they watch the 8th graders in action.
***On Monday we are not having are usual MAD Day workout from 8:45 – 10:15, on Monday we are simply having our Football Penny Camp.

Monday – This is a reminder to all who have signed up for our great (EMS and KMS) Rogers Activity Center Football Camp that is coming up on June 3rd - June 6th, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. It is sure to be a great time!!! Here are a few simple reminders about this camp.
-- The clothing that is needed is simply shorts, t shirt, and cleats if your child has them. If not then tennis shoes will work as well.
Our campers will be receiving a camp t shirt at the end of the camp.
-- This camp will be held at Kirksey Middle School from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
-- It will be coached by Coach Hattier, and Coach Anderson the head coach of Kirksey.
-- We will be coaching athleticism with a variety of quickness and agility drills, as well as the fundamentals of football for offense and defense.
-- We will have water available, but if you would like to do so a water bottle would be a good item to bring.

Tuesday - MAD Days Workouts (8:45 - 10:15)

Wednesday - MAD Days Workouts (8:45 - 10:15)

Thursday - MAD Days Workouts (8:45 - 10:15)

3. As soon as I receive our order form for our EMS Football fan apparel from Team Graphics I will send it out to you via email so that you will have an opportunity to look over what you would like to order. We have a great looking design this year with a good variety of clothing options from a t shirt to a long sleeve shirt and a hooded sweat shirt. We also have personalized EMS Football car decals.

4. In the future I will be sending out invites to join our free FLickr photo website. This is free to join, and it offers a wide variety of options for our parents. There are quite a few options available on Flickr such as making a college to making a personalized calendar. We will upload our team photos to this Flickr site which can be found at www.mountiesfootball.com. Once I send out our invitation to join our Team Flickr page you will simply accept the invitation.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!!
I look forward to an exciting summer!!!

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, as we approach our first MAD Day summer workout tomorrow from 8:45 – 10:15 am at the RHS Football Facility, I just wanted to send out a couple of reminders that may be helpful.
1. If you have not signed up for MAD Days yet you can still do so by simply dropping off your registration form and money with Coach Hattier at MAD Days workouts. These are very important workouts for all of pur players to attend, and they are fun as well. They help us to prepare for the upcoming season, and to become our best as a team!
2. All of our MAD Day workout dates are on the calendar that I have previously sent through email, and with a physical copy sent home with our players. This week our MAD Day workouts are on Wednesday and Thursday.
3. Please do not let financial situations get in the way. We want all of our players to be able to attend our MAD Day summer workouts, and if there is a financial concern please let me know, and I will do my best to make  sure that your child has the opportunity to participate in MAD Days. The $20.oo payment covers the entire summer of MAD Day Workouts.
4. The clothing for MAD Day workouts is black shorts, and hunter green shirt. Tennis shoes are what we will use most of the time because we will be on an artificial turf surface and in the weight room. If there is a time that we need cleats we will let our players now.
5. It is always best to be there a little early. 8:35 – 8:40 am is a good time to arrive in order to be ready to go.
6. Proper nutrition is always stressed. Please always eat a sufficient, nutritional breakfast in order to be fueled for the workout ahead. This is a key component in our workout process.
***I am looking forward to seeing you there!!!

EMS Football - Weekly Update

Hello to all, and thank you to everyone who attended our player and parent meeting on Wednesday. It was great to visit and to share all of the great things that await us for the summer and the fall. If you were unable to make the meeting here is a recap of all of the things that we covered. I have also attached all of the physical paperwork that needs to be completed before your current physical is no longer valid. Physicals are valid for one full year from the time that it is completed. I have attached a variety of other important files that I am sure you will find helpful over the summer and during the fall.

***All Physical Paperwork, MAD Day Forms, and Camp Forms can be before we leave for summer break, or they can simply turned into me at our MAD Day Workouts at the RHS Football Facility.

Our first MAD Days workouts will be on May 29th and May 30th from 8:45 – 10:15am at the RHS Football facility. Every MAD Day workout and football camp is on the calendar that I have attached to this email. MAD Day workout attire is shorts and a t shirt. Tennis shoes for the most part and at times cleats will be needed. We are asking that whenever you purchase cleats that they are black cleats so that we are all looking the same on the football field.

We have asked that all of our players dress alike during our workouts. For any of our athletes who did not purchase our workout shorts and shirts you can simply obtain a pair of black shorts and a hunter green shirt at Wal Mart or Academy Sports. They are relatively inexpensive. This allows us to have more team unity as we go through our summer workouts and fall workouts.

I have all of the other equipment that our players need. As I have said before the only other thing that I can think of is ankle braces. This is not required of course, but we feel that it is a good preventative measure to protect the ankles. Academy and Best Sports in Rogers are great resources for these.

Our MAD Day Workouts are very important and we definitely encourage all of our players to make each of the MAD Day workouts, and as many football camps as possible, as this only helps our players to become their very best!! In addition, they are a lot of fun!!!

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!! I will continue to update you on a weekly basis on all of the EMS Football Happenings.

I am excited about our summer events, and also about our hard working football team!! If you need any further assistance, or if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. Go Raiders!!!!

2. Last Friday was our last offseason workout for this school year. We will begin our 6th and 7th grade MAD Days summer workouts on Wednesday, May 29th. All of the MAD Days summer workout dates are on the calendar that I have previously sent out by email, and I have also sent a summer calendar home along with the MAD Day registration form with our players. One the MAD Days registration form you will sign up for the 8:45-10:15 am session. If you could have that back to me before we leave for summer break that would be great. Your child can simply drop it off with me. The price is only $20 for the entire summer, and if funding is an
issue please let me know as I want all of our players to be able to attend the MAD Days summer workouts. This is an outstanding opportunity for our players to use the RHS workout facilities and to get prepared for the upcoming season. These are some of the best football facilities in the state and we have a great opportunity to use them. I have also attached the MAD Dat registration form to this email. 3. As we approach the summer workouts and summer camps we are asking that all of our players look the same for team unity. Most of our players have a pair of black shorts, and a hunter green shirt. If not then we simply ask that our players obtain these for our summer workouts and upcoming football season. They are relatively inexpensive at Wal Mart, or Academy Sports. Anything simple will do.

4. Lastly, as we approach the upcoming season it is important that our players have an updated physical and medical history form. I have sent these home with our players, and inmate them aware of when there physical will be out of date. The physicals are good for one full year. I also also sent a flyer home for Ozark Urgent Care which is a quick, inexpensive, and easy way to obtain a physical. All completed physicals and medical history forms can be turned in to Coach Hattier.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!  I look forward to a fun, exciting, and productive summer!!!    Go Raiders!!!!

EMS 7th Grade Football Offseason Weekly Update

Hello to all, here is our information for this week. The following is information that I previously sent out regarding our upcoming events. I just wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to view it. I have also attached our EMS Football Summer calendar of events. As soon as the MAD Day summer workout registration form is available I will send out with our weekly update and I will send it home with our athletes. It has been a great week for our players. They have learned quite a bit, and have improved with each workout! Our Spring Football for this week will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 - 4:30. It will be a tremendous time as we improve as a team!

1. Throughout the summer we have many fun team based activities such as our Mad Day summer workouts, and two of our Penny Football Camps on Monday June 3rd, and on Monday June 10th. All of these events will take place at the RHS football facility. These will be a lot of fun and will be an outstanding opportunity for our players to improve their football skills, strength, speed, quickness, and conditioning.

2. The main cost involved is the MAD Day workouts, which are a very low cost of $20 total, which includes around 20 workouts. This is a fun, and effective time for our team to improve with each workout and to get ready for the upcoming season! We would like for all of our players to make it to as many workouts and events as possible! This will only make our players and team better and build great team spirit. The Mad Days brochure can be printed off and completed by visiting www.mountiesfootball. com, and then by clicking on the Special Events tab. I will also send home a paper copy of this as well. If our players can complete the brochure and send it in to Coach Hattier by the end of the school year that would be great.

3. We will also have our Spring Football Workouts from April 30th -May 9th. These workouts will be specifically designed to improve our position specific football skills for offense and defense, as as well as installing our offensive and defensive systems. It will be allot of fun and it will be a good time for us to improve as a team. For our  Spring Football Workouts or days will remain the same - Tuesday - Thursday, but the time will change to 3:00-4:30. Our apparel will remain the same except we will be wearing our helmets during these workouts. These workouts will be non contact, and we are simply wearing our helmets to get used to utilizing our head gear as we install our offensive and defensive concepts. We will supply their helmets and mouthpieces. We have been blessed to acquire some new equipment over the last couple of years and so we have everything that your athlete needs.

4. There is really nothing new that your child needs for this.  The only exception is if your child has braces and you would like a specialized mouthpiece. Academy Sports and Best Sports in Rogers would be good places pick find this at. I am also a big fan of ankle braces. This is not required of course, it is simply a good safety measure that protects the ankles in the midst of  playing with turning and adjusting their movements, etc. Academy Sports and Best Sports in Rogers are good resources for this item as well.

Thank you for your valuable time and support! I am excited about all of these events that are on the horizon!!! You can also find updated information on our Elmwood Raider Football Team page on Facebook, or by following me on Twitter at Ryanhattier.
Thank you for your valuable support!!! Go Raiders!!!!
