EMS 7th Grade Football Offseason Weekly Update

Hello to all, here is our information for this week. The following is information that I previously sent out regarding our upcoming events. I just wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to view it. This week is going to be nice according to the forecast, so we should have a lot of good time to be outside and working on our football skills. Our Spring Football begins this week and we will have it on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 - 4:30. It will be a great time as we improve as a team!

1. Throughout the summer we have many fun team based activities such as two of our Penny Football Camps, and our Mad Day summer workouts. All of these events will take place at the RHS football facility.

2. The main cost involved is the MAD Day workouts, which are a very low cost of $20 total, which includes around 20 workouts. This is a fun, and effective time for our team to improve with each workout and to get ready for the upcoming season! We would like for all of our players to make it to as many workouts and events as possible! This will only make our players and team better and build great team spirit. The Mad Days brochure can be printed off and completed by visiting www.mountiesfootball. com, and then by clicking on the Special Events tab. I will also send home a paper copy of this as well. If our players can complete the brochure and send it in to Coach Hattier by the end of the school year that would be great.

3. We will also have our Spring Football Workouts from April 30th -May 9th. These workouts will be specifically designed to improve our position specific football skills for offense and defense, as as well as installing our offensive and defensive systems. It will be allot of fun and it will be a good time for us to improve as a team. For our  Spring Football Workouts or days will remain the same - Tuesday - Thursday, but the time will change to 3:00-4:30. Our apparel will remain the same except we will be wearing our helmets during these workouts. These workouts will be non contact, and we are simply wearing our helmets to get used to utilizing our head gear as we install our offensive and defensive concepts. We will supply their helmets and mouthpieces. We have been blessed to acquire some new equipment over the last couple of years and so we have everything that your athlete needs.

4. There is really nothing new that your child needs for this.  The only exception is if your child has braces and you would like a specialized mouthpiece. Academy Sports and Best Sports in Rogers would be good places pick find this at. I am also a big fan of ankle braces. This is not required of course, it is simply a good safety measure that protects the ankles in the midst of  playing with turning and adjusting their movements, etc. Academy Sports and Best Sports in Rogers are good resources for this item as well.

Thank you for your valuable time and support! I am excited about all of these events that are on the horizon!!!

EMS 7th Grade Football Offseason - Weekly Update

Hello to all, I just wanted to congratulate our athletes on yet another great week of offseason! We were able to improve our strength, speed, quickness, and work on our offensive and defensive positions. Our athletes are gaining confidence, and with hard work and discipline they are improving every week.

Next week is our Benchmark Testing Week at Elmwood, so we will take next week off, and we will have no offseason workouts. We will continue with our normal schedule and routine the following week.

We have exciting things on the horizon such as our Summer MAD Days workouts and other various activities that will take place at the RHS football facility. Needless to say our athletes are having a great time, and our team is working together to encourage each other to be their very best!

As we approach the last portion of the school year I want to encourage all of our athletes to continue to be leaders in our school by following our Core Values and by being the best students that they can be!!
