EMS Football - 7th Grade Offseason Weekly Update

Hello to all, we had another great week of Football Offseason. Our athletes are improving with each work out. Next week we will have our normal schedule. Just a reminder to have warm clothing available at school next week (sweat shirt, sweat pants, etc). I am very proud of our team’s efforts and the great attitudes that they have displayed!! We were able to play a couple of two hand touch football games this week, and it was exciting to see our guys compete. As weather permits we will have more time to be outside in order to work on our football skills.

We also passed out our EMS Football Core Value Bracelet this week, which displays the initials of our Core Values of (Team, Hard Work, Truth, and Serving Others). This is very special as they will wear these throughout the week to show our school how far they have progressed in our football offseason. As they progress further we will pass out 2 other bracelets with different colors to commemorate their hard work and living out our Core Values in the school and outside of the school. My expectation for our student athletes is that they are leaders, and that they go the extra mile with their academics and with their character.

7th Grade EMS Football Weekly Update

Hello to all, I just want to send out our weekly update for 7th grade Football Offseason. We had a great first week, ad I am excited about our group of young men. They are working hard, and have great attitudes! Our schedule for next week is the same as usual. We will have our offseason workouts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15-4:15. When our workouts are finished our athletes will meet their rides at the front of the school. Once again for any athletes who might not have his physical yet we still want those athletes to be a part of our team and to attend offseason workouts. Once their physical is complete they will be able to participate in the actual workout.
As of right now we will complete most of our workouts inside due to the colder weather, but as it warms up we will spend more time outside.
Once again, I am excited about this group and we are going to have a great time as we prepare for the upcoming season!!

Dear Parents,

Hello to all, this is just a quick announcement from Coach Hattier in regards to Football Offseason, which will begin after Christmas Break. A lot of exciting things await our football players as they transition from the 8th grade and into Roger Mountie Football as a 9th grader. Our offseason will begin on Tuesday, January 15th. For the first couple of months (January – March), our players will be driven over to the RHS football facilities on Tue., Wed., and Fri after school. They will take Bus #11 that will be waiting for them. It will leave promptly at 3:05. Their offseason will be directed by Coach Flannigan and his staff at RHS. This will be a great time to work out at our state of the art facility and to also work with our outstanding Coaches at RHS. The offseason sessions usually go until 4:30. Coach Flannigan, and the 9th Grade Coaches (Coach Hahn, and Coach Aldridge), will direct their offseason activities.

Also, congratulations to our basketball team for it's outstanding start! We are excited for their success!! Any football players who are currently playing basketball at EMS will simply join us for football offseason after basketball season is over.

Thank you for your valuable time and support!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Parents,

This message is for all 7th grade football players that you need to get your paperwork and physicals turned into Coach Hattier in his classroom 216 in order to participate in our Football Offseason. Even if you do not have your paperwork turned in you still need to attend Football Offseason. Once again even if you do not have your paperwork turned in you still need to be in attendance at Football Offseason. Our offseason will start this Tuesday. We will meet in the Football Locker Room. Our offseason will be on Tue., Wed., and Thur. from 3:15 – 4:15. You will need a pair of shorts, a t shirt, tennis shoes, cleats, and cold weather clothing. It is going to be a great time and  I look forward to seeing you there!!

As mentioned before our offseason workout days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15-4:15. We will have 3 phases of our offseason. January - February (Introduction to our Core Lifts, Conditioning, Speed Development, Quickness / Agility Development, Strength Training). March - April (We will continue with the routine for the previous months, but we will supplement our time with football skill work). April - May (We will progress with our football skill work and strength training).  We will also have the opportunity to go through Spring football for one full week during the month of May. This will be a lot of fun for our players as they have their Spring Football workouts at RHS and with the RHS Coaches.

As summer approaches we will begin our MAD Day Workouts at the RHS Football Training Facility. We will also have a variety of exciting team camps throughout the summer in order to prepare for the upcoming season.
As always you can easily stay updated on all Elmwood Raider Football Happenings by visiting our Facebook Page, or by visiting our website at www.mountiesfootball.com. Probably in mid January to February I will send out a more detailed calendar of events for our Football Offseason for the months of January - May.

When the bell rings to end the school day our athletes will simply meet us in the football locker room. We ask that our athletes have tennis shoes, shorts, cleats, and also warm weather clothing available in their lockers for when it is cold. Eventually we will have our official EMS Raider Football Offseason shirts and shorts that our athletes will order. We make it a low price of $20 total for the shirt and shorts. They are high quality and they do last a long time. We will send out order forms for that at some point in January. I will say that I am a big fan of ankle braces. This is a great preventative measure for our athletes. If your child already has a set then please encourage him to wear them on a consistent basis throughout offseason. If you do not have ankle braces at this present time then Academy Sports, or Best Sports in Rogers are two great resources for this. It is not mandatory, but I definitely encourage it. They are relatively inexpensive and very beneficial when it comes to injury prevention. Other than that we provide all of the equipment that they will need, so no worries on purchasing extra equipment. We have quite a bit of equipment that we will furnish our players with at EMS.

Coach Tebbenkamp is our Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator. He is a great person and Coach, and I am proud that he is on our staff. He will provide tremendous instruction to your child, and you will have the opportunity to meet him throughout offseason.

When Offseason begins I will generally provide a weekly offseason update / email on what we are doing that week, and if there may be any changes due to weather, etc. I will update our parents promptly.

As always please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. Thank you again for your valuable time and support, and I look forward to an exciting 2013 Elmwood Raider Football Season!!!!!!
